Unkillable Samsung smartphone with 5.3-inch screen and NFC approved for release

It has long been known that Samsung is working on a new rugged smartphone in its popular Xcover series, which is due out under the name Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5. Now the device has appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database, which indicates an imminent release.

The standard version of the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 will have model number SM-G525F. The dual SIM variant will receive the model number SM-G525F_DS. An LTE version of the smartphone has appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database, while a model with support for fifth generation networks is also expected.

According to unofficial information, the new smartphone will be equipped with a 5.3-inch TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, a single-chip Exynos 850 system, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory. The main camera is expected to use an image sensor with a resolution of 16 megapixels, as well as a lens with an aperture of F / 1.8. The front camera will receive a 5-megapixel image sensor and an F / 2.2 aperture lens.

The smartphone will receive a slot for microSD memory cards, NFC, Samsung Pay, Samsung Knox and Android 11 with One UI 3.x. Of course, it will meet the IP68 protection rating and the requirements of the American military standard MIL-STD-810G. The battery capacity will be 3000 mAh, the smartphone will support 15-watt charging.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 will retail for less than 300 euros.
