UNRWA issues SOS over baby milk shortages in Gaza Strip

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned on Monday night of critical shortages of baby milk in the Gaza Strip. As she points out, more than 8,500 infants depend on powdered milk provided through UNRWA, but existing supplies are insufficient. It is characteristic that one of the few UNRWA health centers that remain in operation in the southern part of the Palestinian enclave has only six boxes of baby milk. “With more than 200,000 people depending on this center for primary health care, the massive lack of supplies puts many – including infants – at serious risk,” the UN agency for Palestine refugees points out.
