Unsinkable Russian “cyberboat” presented to combat poaching

Director of the Center for Technological Projects of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University presented an unmanned boat called Cyberboat-330. Alexey Maistro confirmed that this boat is designed to combat poaching.

It is an unmanned surface platform designed for pursuit, patrolling and scanning of surface waters. The neural network is pre-trained to identify poachers based on certain signs. According to Alexey Maistro, the boat can operate at a great distance from the operator, as well as perform its work autonomously, without maintaining direct communication. In this case, the operator only gives the task.

The developers of “Cyberboat-330” claim complete unsinkability even if fired at. It will stay afloat thanks to the principle of separable modules and cylinders with expanded polyethylene. Maystro added that such boats, due to their unsinkability, can pay off in less than a year after their commissioning.

The exact dimensions were not disclosed, but the developers say that the boat is “very small, light and mobile, it can be easily brought anywhere in a trailer by car.” Also, such drones can be used for rescue services and hydrography.
