A mother in the Phoenix of the US was arrested for murderafter her daughter was found dead in trashbin on Christmas Eve.
Sophia Simmons, 38, was arrested after police received a tip that she had put her daughter's body in a dumpster after the child was allegedly brutally beaten to death.
What happened
A witness, who lives in New York, reportedly received a phone call from Simmons on Christmas Day and claimed that the mother had confessed that she “hit her child and pulled him away,” according to FOX.

The girl has not been named and is believed to be between five and seven years old. Found on Sunday around 8pm. into the trash can.
A witness was rummaging through a dumpster for firewood when he noticed that the bin lid was not properly open. When he looked inside, he found the child's body and told a nearby security guard, who called the police.
The police found the girl's body with multiple injuries on her legs, arms and torso. Investigators believe the wounds were in multiple stages of healing and the girl had signs of previous assaults.
The New York witness also revealed that Simmons told her that after brutally beating the child at home, she left and when she returned, the girl was not breathing.
He stayed with the body for five days, according to a police report, before taking it to the dumpster.
