Counterpoint analysts have shared an infographic based on data on the state of the smartphone market in the first quarter.

Let’s start with the fact that Huawei now occupies only 4% of the market, and literally a year and a half ago, the company held the second place, surpassing even Apple. Now the top five are represented by Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.

Of course, in some markets the situation may be completely different. North America is dominated by Apple, Asia is dominated by local brands, and Samsung has no competitors in Europe and Latin America.

In general, shipments of smartphones in the first quarter increased by 20% to 355 million. Shipments of conventional mobile phones decreased by 19%.

Here the leaders are Itel, HMD (Nokia), Tecno, Samsung and Lava. At the same time, for example, Nokia phones have no competitors in Europe, and Alcatel is the leader in North and Latin America.
