The cost of the Moskvich-3 compact urban crossover, the production of which started at the former Renault plant in Moscow, has been disclosed. According to a source cited by RIA Novosti, the cost of the first model of the revived Moskvich brand will be about 1.6-2 million rubles.
“Its cost can be 27-33 thousand dollars (about 1.6-2 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Given that the car is planned to be included in the preferential car loan program in the future, the price, respectively, may be even lower, ”said the insider.
Another source of the publication said that Moskvich-3 would be comparable in price to the Chinese crossover JAC JS4, on the basis of which it was built.
As expected, Moskvich-3 will go on sale in Moscow in December 2022, and in other regions it will appear in early 2023. The crossover is equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with 150 hp. and 210 Nm of torque, which will be accompanied by either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
Following the crossover, the production of the first electric car will start in December at the former Renault plant, which is now called Moskvich. This, most likely, will be the Moskvich 3e electric model, which was previously found in the Rosstandart database.
