Updated KIA Ceed will arrive in Russia, but without mechanics

In the middle of summer, the Korean automaker KIA announced the updated Ceed family, which is about to appear on the Russian market. The new representatives of the KIA Ceed series have already received vehicle type approval, which indicates the imminent launch of sales in Russia. This is reported by the Motor1.com portal with reference to the official representatives of the brand in the domestic market.

It is reported that only two models of the updated KIA Ceed passed certification in Russia – a hatchback and a station wagon. But KIA ProCeed, apparently, will leave the Russian market. Also, KIA will refuse to sell the updated Ceed in Russia, complete with a six-speed manual gearbox. Already in the basic configuration, the KIA Ceed will come with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine with 128 horsepower and a six-speed automatic. Instead of a 1.4-liter turbo engine for 140 horses, which was equipped with the previous generation of KIA Ceed, the updated cars will be equipped with a 150-horsepower 1.5-liter engine in combination with a seven-speed robotic transmission. A version with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with 200 horsepower under the hood will also be available in Russia.

The timing of the start of sales, as well as all available configurations and prices for the new Kia Ceed in Russia will be announced later. So far, it is only known that in some trim levels, the updated cars will be offered with branded on-board services Kia Connect and an extended driver assistance system Drive Wise.
