The free utility Rufus for creating bootable flash drives received a new beta version numbered 3.19 – one of its key innovations was an option that disables the mandatory sign-in to a Microsoft account in the Windows 11 image when setting up the system. Initially, only Windows 11 Home required a cloud account for activation, but since May 2022, signing in to a Microsoft account has become mandatory when installing Windows 11 Pro. In Rufus 3.19 Beta, a new menu has appeared that allows you to customize the image even before writing to a USB flash drive and bypass the artificial limitations of Windows 11:
However, the option to turn off Microsoft account sign-in is not displayed – it is enabled by default. If during the initial setup of Windows 11 Home or Pro the Internet is turned off (manually by the user), then the system can be installed without logging into a cloud account.
