German military equipment maker Hensoldt said it is reviewing its security measures after it was revealed that Russia planned to assassinate the company’s chairman and chief executive, Rheinmetall. “For us this is an opportunity to review once again the already high standards” we maintain in terms of security measures, noted a spokesman for Hensoldt, which produces radar technology for the IRIS-T anti-aircraft system also used by Ukraine. For his part, the spokesman for the German Interior Ministry noted that Berlin is working closely with its international partners, especially the US, although he added that he could not comment on the details of individual threats coming from Russia. “We take very seriously the growing threat (due to) Russian aggression,” the spokesman underlined, clarifying that security measures in general have been significantly strengthened.
