Uproar over journalist’s comment: He asked if the meeting between the prime ministers of Finland and New Zealand was due to age

Its prime minister New Zealand Jacinda Ardern she responded diplomatically, though visibly annoyed, to a journalist who hinted that she had met with the Finnish prime minister Sana Marin just because of similarities they have, like for example their age. “You met only for your commons, like age?“, asked journalistprovoking a lot of reactions.

“A lot of people will wonder if you two are meeting just because you are similar in age and have other things in common when you entered politics. Or do people expect to see agreements between the two countries next?” was the entire question of the reporter. Her answer Ardern was prompt and came after a question: “Has anyone ever asked former New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and former US President Barack Obama if they met because of their similar age?’ to add: “Of course we have a higher percentage of men in politics – it’s the reality”, said the prime minister.

“THE Finland exports to New Zealand worth $199 million”he said and added that New Zealand exports goods of value 14 million dollars annually in Finland and that there is huge potential for future opportunities.

Journalists as well as members of the public took refuge in the Twitter to express their dismay at the journalist’s ill-advised question.
