Do you have to go on vacation and can’t take your dog with you? Are you in the office all day and can’t take care of your puppy? Here it opened in London Urban Mutts, the first luxury hotel where dogs of the capital’s elite can spend their holidays between pampering and social life.
Urban Mutts is a hotel based on a subscription service, just like one of those private English clubs where you have to wait years before you can access it. Owners pay an entry fee of 170 euros to access daycare, hotel stays, fitness classes, training camps, and even spa services.
The interior rooms are heated and fully ventilated, featuring LED mood lighting and custom raised beds. Plus, room service and pampering are available 24 hours a day.
A 24-hour stay at Urban Mutts starts at 80 euros; while it drops to around 60 a night if the dog stays for a week or more. The Dog Club has both indoor and outdoor spaces. The dog can be trained while walking or diving in the Spa for grooming.
It all started with Leo, a Rottweiler who helped the founder, Barry Karacostas, to take back his life after a difficult period. While Leo dragged Barry out for daily walks, Barry stopped to chat with the other dog lovers. Then Barry started running a pack of dogs all over London’s parks.
Both he and the dogs became fitter and happier. Soon, Barry had created a group, including some celebrity dogs like Dora living with David Gandy or Bella and Moon living with Elle Macpherson.
