The European Parliament’s special committee on the pandemic coronavirus decided to call in hearing the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, regarding contracts of vaccines against Covid19.
In particular, the said committee of the European Parliament calls on Ursula von der Leyen to give explanations about her role in the negotiation of the third and largest contract with the Pfizerbut also for the text messages (SMS) he exchanged with the company’s CEO, Albert Burla.
Also, after the double refusal of the CEO of Pfizer, Burlato submit to the European Parliament, the special committee on Covid-19 requests it imposing sanctions against pharmaceuticals company by suspending its access to the European Parliament.

This request, as reported by the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, will be examined by the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament (based on Article 123 of the EC Regulation), which will determine the details of a possible restriction of Pfizer’s access to the EC (e.g. .eg in terms of time span and persons). The General Secretariat may, with the authorization of the Deans, deny the right of access to the EC from a registered person who, inter alia, “refused to comply with a formal invitation to attend a hearing or committee meeting or who does not cooperate with an inquiry committee without provides sufficient justification’.
As for the request by the Covid Committee to invite the President of the Commission to a hearing, according to EP regulation the invitation will be sent to Parliament President Roberta Metzola, who will then decide whether to ask Ursula von der Leyen to attend in the hearing.
