The State Department announced yesterday that it was offering a reward of up to $ 5 million for any information that could lead to the arrest of Aureliano Guzman Loera, brother of the most famous Mexican drug lord, Joaquin El Chapo C.

The state of Sinaloa in northwestern Mexico has long been a hub for marijuana and opium poppy smuggling into the country.

One of the US Department of Justice’s indictments relates to the illicit trafficking of fentanyl, which is responsible for thousands of overdose deaths in the United States each year.

The reward is up to five million dollars for each of the four defendants.

The 64-year-old “El Tsapo” was sentenced in July 2019 to life in prison in the US and is serving his sentence in a high security prison in Colorado.
