US accuses the Sudanese army for using chemical weapons in war

The US accused the Sudan government of using chemical weapons in 2024, in the context of the bloody war between the regular army and paramilitaries, and announced they would soon impose sanctions. “After a 15 -day Congress notice period, the US will impose sanctions on Sudan, including restrictions on US exports to Sudan and access to US government credits,” with validity from June 6, a press release reports. “The US is calling on the Sudan government to stop any use of chemical weapons” and to comply with its international obligations, the announcement is added. No clarification is included in the date of the use of chemical weapons, nor where it was done.
