Washington yesterday added 71 new companies and entities from Russia and Belarus to the US blacklist of trade.
The companies include aircraft factories and shipyards, as well as research institutes, in a latest effort to prevent the use of US technology and other materials and systems by the Russian armed forces.
The export restrictions are part of a new round of US sanctions imposed yesterday in response to Russia’s war in Ukraine, including bans on an additional number of Russian oligarchs and members of the Russian elite.
The new sanctions include 70 Russian companies and other bodies, such as the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In all, the U.S. Department of Commerce has now included 322 companies and entities in its financial blacklist to limit support for Russian military operations that began in late February with the invasion of Ukraine.
