Now, eligible Israeli citizens will be able to travel to U.S for up to 90 days without the requirement of visa the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Thursday (19), anticipating an opportunity that was previously scheduled to begin on November 30.
Last month, the Biden administration announced that Israel would enter the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which allows eligible travelers to apply to enter the US without a visa.
Previously, the program was expected to accept applications starting November 30th, but the announcement showed that the US will begin accepting applications at this time.
Eligible travelers must apply online through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). To be eligible, travelers must have a biometrics-enabled passport and stay for a maximum of 90 days.
Travelers with “documents of trip without biometrics, temporary or emergency, or travel documents from a designated country that is not in the Visa Waiver Program,” are not eligible and may apply for a U.S. visa, according to DHS.

“Travel on a visa may still be the best option for some travelers, such as those who intend to remain in the United States for more than 90 days or those considering extending their stay or changing status in the United States,” DHS said in a statement the press.
The app will be available, only in English and other languages, until November 1, according to the statement.
