The Republican of the state of Minnesota Tom Emmer (Tom Emmer) proposed an amendment to the bill on national defense costs for 2026 financial year. The legislative initiative involves a complete ban on the use of the Central Bank digital currency (CBDC) in defense costs.

According to the author of the project, the amendment should limit the powers of the US federal reserve system in conducting research, testing or implementing digital currency projects related to national security – due to the risks of monitoring of people.

“The bill guarantees that non -conformity bureaucrats will never be allowed to exchange the financial confidentiality of Americans for a tool for surveillance in the style of the Communist Party of China,” – declared Tom Emmmer.

The bill should be considered by the House of Representatives and the Senate before the amendment can begin to act.

Earlier, Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House of Representatives criticized the Genius law, which regulates the release and appeal of stabilcoins attached to the dollar. The parliamentarian described the law as a “trick of the authorities”, which allows a veiled to introduce the digital currency of the Central Bank under the guise of private stabilcoins.
