Economy and Abortion
Combining data from all seven states, the Wall Street Journal survey finds that Trump has an advantage over Kamala in confidence in handling the economy (50% trust him more, compared to 40% who opt for Kamala).
A 65% majority of registered voters in those states say inflation moved in the wrong direction last year (down from 74% who said the same in March). Additionally, 50% said their own finances had moved in the wrong direction, relatively unchanged from earlier this year.
Meanwhile, 41% of voters in those states call the economy or inflation their top issue in the election, compared to 18% who choose abortion.
Across all states, 28% of registered voters choose abortion as the issue they feel so strongly about that they could not vote for a candidate who disagreed with them, while a full 17% choose the economy or inflation.
In all seven states, Kamala leads Trump, 51% to 35%, in confidence to address abortion.
