US elections: Trump votes in Florida; follow live

Republican candidate for President of the United States, former President Donald Trump is voting at this time at a recreation center in Palm Beach, Florida. His opponent, Democrat Kamala Harris, had already voted in advance.

Trump arrived in Florida this Tuesday morning (5). On Monday (4), the last day of the campaign, Trump participated in election rallies in three swing states. In one of them, in Pennsylvania, he compared himself to historical political figures such as Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Winston Churchill.

Trump aides told CNN that the main concern of the Republican campaign is with abstentions. “We feel like we’re in a position now where if the people we think are going to vote for President Trump vote, he should win. So it’s a matter of achieving that. It’s close. It’s very close,” the employee said.

Shortly before Trump went to the polls, the vice-presidential candidate on the Republican ticket, JD Vance, voted in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. After leaving his polling place, he told reporters he was grateful to those who came to see “one of the great traditions of American democracy.”
