The US embassy in Ankara has been put on alert for fear of extremism.
“During the holiday season, there is a potential increase in crime and violent extremism in Turkey,” he said.
The warning states: “Planned attacks and criminal activity often occur in crowded public places, such as markets, malls, airports, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, transportation hubs, schools and other tourist destinations. Public events, such as “Demonstrations, celebrations and celebrations also carry a higher risk of violence.”
Finally, the US Embassy advises everyone to “be vigilant at parties and events, in places of worship and in crowded places, to check their personal security plans, to be aware of their environment and to follow the local media.”
