A U.S. federal court on Thursday ruled in favor of former President Donald Trump’s request that the White House file on the last days of his January 6 bloody invasion of Congress not be opened.
The protesters had used violence inside the US federal parliament in order not to formally ratify the defeat of the Republican politician in the November 2020 presidential election and the victory of his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.
The court ruling comes a day before the U.S. National Archives began handing out copies of those records to the lower house of Congress, which investigates the events of that sad day for American democracy.
