US First Lady Says She Hasn’t Talked to Biden About Reelection

the first lady of United States , Jill Biden says he has not yet discussed with the president Joe Biden whether he will run for a second term.

“Not yet. We’re a little too busy. So not yet,” Jill revealed to NBC’s “Today” in an interview that aired Tuesday morning (13) but was pre-taped Monday (12) in Knoxville, Tennessee.

“But I’m sure it will be discussed,” he added.

It is the first time the first lady has publicly indicated that there has been no conversation between her and her husband about a second term in the White House.

The White House has consistently indicated that Biden intends to run for re-election in 2024, although more recently some Democrats have been in doubt whether a second-term campaign is a fait accompli.

Biden’s advanced age and low approval numbers have raised questions about his viability with voters.

THE CNN reported in August, according to reports from Biden’s interlocutors and his family members, that a campaign is heavy work that not everyone in the family craves.

In June, Vice President Kamala Harris stated in an interview that Biden’s goal is a second term.

“The president intends to run, and if he does, I will be his companion in passing. Let’s run together,” Harris said.

Jill Biden’s confession that there is still an argument between the couple over President Biden’s political future is a sign that the decision may not be final.

“It’s exhausting,” the first lady said in the same interview, asking whether a long presidential campaign is something she and President Biden were ready to tackle. “But, you know, look at everything Joe did. He stayed true to what he said he would do. So I think he just needs to keep going,” she pointed out.
