In Nairobi, Blinken will meet with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss bilateral issues. Among them, cooperation in ending the COVID-19 pandemic, but also regional security issues, such as Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan, the US State Department said in the same statement.
Blinken will then travel to Abuja, where he will meet with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss co-operation on global health security, expanding access to energy and reviving democracy.
In Dakar, Blinken will meet with Senegalese President Maki Sal “to reaffirm close co-operation between the two countries,” according to the same statement.
