US Freezes UNRWA Funding – Allegations of Staff Involvement in Hamas Attacks

THE Washington temporarily freezes funding of the United Nations Office for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) expressing concern about the complaints that 12 workers of UNRWA allegedly involved in the October 7 attacks in southern Israel by Hamas.

“The State Department has temporarily suspended additional funding for UNRWA as we review these allegations and the steps the United Nations is taking to address them,” said US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

UNRWA, as reported by APE-MPE, announced earlier today that opened an investigation into the alleged involvement of its employees in the October 7 attacks as well as that she severed her relations with these members of her staff.

“The Israeli authorities provided UNRWA with information about the alleged involvement of several UNRWA workers in the horrific attacks against Israel on 7 October,” UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said.
