Washington police in the United States announced early this morning (local time) that they had arrested a man who is believed to have shot at least five homeless people in the federal capital and New York, killing two of them and injuring others.
“Early this morning, police arrested the suspect in Washington. He is currently being questioned by the Homicide Unit,” said city police, adding that they would release more details later.
Authorities were looking for a man who shot three homeless men in Washington March 3 and two more homeless people in southern Manhattan on Saturday.
They are also investigating whether another homeless man who was found dead on Sunday in Manhattan was a victim of the same perpetrator.
