US: NFIB business confidence index falls to 88.5 in March, its lowest level since 2012

The index of NFIB Research Foundation confidence has fallen nine tenths in March, standing at 88.5 points compared to 89.4 in February, reaching its lowest level since December 2012.

The figure also worsens market expectations, since a rebound to 90.2 points was expected.

He Dollar Index (DXY) fell after the data to 104.01, new three-day low. At the time of writing, the DXY is moving around 104.02 points, falling 0.11% daily.

NFIB Business Confidence Index

The NFIB Research Foundation has collected data on small business economic trends with quarterly surveys since 1974 and monthly surveys since 1986. Respondents are drawn from NFIB members. The report is published on the second Tuesday of each month.
