US pledged more support for Ukraine’s defense, says foreign minister

The United States has assured that there will be additional defense support for Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Saturday.

“Today we received additional pledges from the United States on how our defense cooperation will evolve,” Kuleba told reporters in Warsaw, stressing that “no other country has provided more support to Ukraine than the United States.”

“Ukrainian resistance and Western weapons, especially American weapons, are the recipe for success on the battlefield,” Kuleba said.

Earlier this Saturday, Kuleba and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov met with their US counterparts, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in Warsaw.

“We see that the United States is eager to move forward with more sanctions,” Kuleba said.

“We have some European countries that need to be convinced and that also need to be accepted, so we agreed today with my colleague Secretary Blinken on how we will work together with them,” added the foreign minister.
