Texas authorities in the United States have opened a criminal investigation to investigate the trampling that killed eight people during a concert by American rapper Travis Scott at the Astroworld festival in Dallas.
Police say the investigations will follow two important points. The first is the movement of people who were at the show and who started to invade the area that divides the stage from the audience, pressing fans against the grid.
The venue where the show was held has a capacity for 200,000 people, and, according to the event’s organizers, only 50,000 people were present on the day.
The other point of the investigation is the supposed presence of a person who would be injecting opioid with a syringe into other fans without their consent.
Texas police are now awaiting the release of tests taken on the eight people killed during the show to find out exactly what were the causes of their deaths.
