US: Police search for party shooters in Pittsburgh, two dead

Police are looking for the shooters who opened fire at a party in Pittsburgh, United States, and killed two young men in the early hours of Sunday (17).

The two victims were under the age of 18, while another eight people suffered gunshot wounds, police said, updating information previously given to the press.

Another five people were injured when they jumped from the windows of the house or when they tried to escape the gunfire in the house, where hundreds of people, mostly young people, had gathered in a huge party.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said evidence so far suggested there were multiple shooters and that investigators believe a fight may have led to the shooting, without further details. Authorities have not provided the names of the two victims so far.

More than 90 shots were fired amid “a lot of chaos” with investigators looking for clues and retrieving various weapons as well as different rounds of ammunition, Schubert said.

Shots were fired inside and outside the house and police asked witnesses and people who attended the party to come forward and share videos or any other evidence.
