The heads of the US and Polish diplomats condemned, after their telephone contact, the treatment of immigrants by the government of Belarus, as announced by the State Department, while at the same time expressing their solidarity with Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
“Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has reaffirmed US support for Poland’s cynical exploitation of the Lukashenko regime by vulnerable immigrants,” State Department spokesman Ned Price was quoted as saying by Reuters.
“The actions of the Lukashenko regime threaten security and sow divisions, while aiming to divert attention from Russia’s actions on its border with Ukraine,” the US diplomat added.
