Since early August, the tough stance and “anti-cryptocurrency rhetoric” of the current White House administration has begun to change, experts from Fortune magazine write. The Supreme Political Action Committee (Super PAC) supporting US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, known as Future Forward PAC, is set to seize the initiative from Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump.
The super PAC called its donation drive through Coinbase a program to support the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, Crypto4Harris.
Coinbase CFO Alesia Haas confirmed that Kamala Harris’ campaign has begun soliciting donations on Coinbase Commerce.
“Harris has a huge opportunity and has already made efforts to push for new cryptocurrency legislation. We are cautiously optimistic,” Haas added.
Fortune experts speculate that while Harris has yet to publicly state her position on the future of the crypto market if she is elected, campaign staff have held talks with many well-known cryptocurrency companies, including Coinbase and Ripple.
