US presidential election: Trump and Biden in communication war

A very tense election and, already, the start of a communication war. In a few minutes, two predictions of victory, a charge of “theft of the election” and a censorship on Twitter launch a battle which could be long.

It is half past twelve (local time) in Delaware when Joe Biden appears before a crowd of horns to galvanize his troops. The results are far from being known, but the Democratic candidate seems reassured. Clearly and simply, the Democratic candidate for the American presidency announces that he is “on track to win” the presidential election against Donald Trump, while total suspense still reigned over the outcome of the ballot.

“Keep the faith, we will win! »Launched the former US vice-president in front of supporters gathered in« drive-in »in his stronghold of Wilmington, in Delaware. “We think we are well on our way to winning this election,” he said to enthusiastic honking. Joe Biden relies on states still uncertain. “We are confident in Arizona, we will win Pennsylvania,” he proclaimed.

“They’re trying to steal the election,” Trump said

Immediately, Donald Trump reacted via his favorite channel: Twitter. The outgoing president thus predicted his “big victory”, in capital letters, in the American presidential election, accusing the Democrats of trying to “steal” it, and promised to speak shortly. “We are ahead and far away, but they are trying to steal the election. We will never let them do it. Ballots cannot be cast after the polls have closed, ”Donald Trump tweeted.

We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!

It only took a few seconds for Twitter to conceal the tweet under a warning to its users. “Some or all of the content shared in this tweet is disputed and likely to be misleading about how to participate in an election or other civic process,” the social network wrote on the president’s tweet, shortly after his publication. According to US media, Joe Biden’s team immediately reported the tweet in question to the social network.
