US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said Tuesday that expects no revision of US tariffs on China imposed during President Donald Trump’s administration until the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) completes an ongoing review, Reuters reported citing the CNBC interview with the diplomat.
The political manager also cited the need for tariffs to be much more strategic to defend the Government’s quadrennial review.
It should be noted, however, that the US Secretary of Commerce criticized Chinese practices of subsidizing its companiesas they negatively impact American workers. The same justifies the need for a level playing field, according to the US diplomat.
