US: Real estate tycoon Robert Derst sentenced to life in prison

THE Robert Derst, his multimillionaire heir and tycoon real estate, who was serving a life sentence for murder in California and he was suspected of two other murders in the last four decades, he died in prison at the age of 78, the law firm representing him announced in the last hours.

His death came from natural causes, according to the news agency Reuters, while the law firm reported in the newspaper New York Times that Derst suffered a heart attack and died at the hospital San Joaquin where he was served.

THE Robert Derst was his grandson Joseph Derest and his son Seymour Dorst, who promoted the company Durst Organization in a real estate giant in New York and built some of the most iconic skyscrapers in the Manhattan. The company is currently run by the deceased’s brother, Douglas Derst, who had testified at the trial and said of his brother: “He would like to kill me.”
