The US Senate will consider a bill next week that provides for sanctions on Russia and in countries buying Russian oil and other products, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham said today after his talks in Kiev with Ukraki. Graham, accompanied by this visit by Democratic Senator Richard Blumental, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to delay the peace process. He also said that the second round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine would not be a “Russian mockery”. Moscow has proposed to hold these talks in Constantinople next Monday. Ukraine, however, has not yet clarified whether it will participate, saying that it first wants to see the Russian memorandum that includes Russia’s proposals for a settlement of the conflict.
