The United States of America is deeply concerned about the violence in Jerusalemwhere At least 152 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli police on Friday (15/4)as announced by State Department.
“We call on all parties to show restraint, to avoid provocations through action and rhetoric, and to maintain the status quo on the Temple Mount (Haram al-Sharif)”said the State Department spokesman, Ned Price.
The bloody incidents erupted after a series of attacks in Israel and Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank.
Islam’s third holiest site, the Temple Square or Temple Mount as it is called by the Jews, is located in the Old City of East Jerusalem, a Palestinian-occupied area since 1967 by Israel.

The foreign ministers of Germany, France, Italy and Spain today condemned the violence in East Jerusalem in a joint statement.
“We call on all parties to show the utmost restraint as well as to refrain from violence and any form of provocation,” ministry officials said in a statement.
At the same time, the deputy spokesman of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that France demanded “maximum restraint” after the riots and clashes between Palestinian and Israeli police in the Square of Mosques in Jerusalem.
“We call for maximum restraint and the avoidance of all forms of violence,” he said. “France calls for respect for and preservation of the historic status quo in the holy sites of Jerusalem and recalls Jordan’s essential role in this regard,” he added.
France also reiterated its “strong condemnation of the terrorist attacks that killed 14 people in Israel, including one of our compatriots.”
Since March 22, there have been four attacks in Israel, the first two carried out by Israeli Arab citizens affiliated with the Islamic State organization and whose three perpetrators were killed by Israeli forces. Two other attacks took place on the outskirts of the Tel Aviv metropolis by Palestinians of Jenin descent in the occupied West Bank.
The attacks claimed the lives of fourteen people in Israel, including a French-Israeli.
Also, 22 Palestinians, including the perpetrators, have been killed since that day in violence, mostly linked to “counterterrorism operations” in the West Bank, according to a French Agency count.
