US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said his administration submitted to the other member states of the United Nations Security Council a draft resolution calling for an “immediate ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip, which would be “linked to the liberation of Hamas”. still held in the enclave, in an interview he gave to a Saudi media outlet. “We submitted (…) a draft decision which is currently before the Security Council and which calls for an immediate ceasefire to be declared, which will be linked to the release of the hostages, and we have great hopes that the (other) countries (- members (of) will support it,” the head of US diplomacy told Saudi media Al-Hadath (“The Fact”), on the sidelines of a visit to the kingdom devoted primarily to the Israel/Hamas war.
