US to send first woman to the moon

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to land the first woman on the moon in the next ten.

Twelve American men have been to the moon. The last astronaut was there in December 1972. Now, half a century later, NASA plans to send humans back to the moon. The new program is called “Artemis” in honor of the mythical twin sister of Apollo. Now the US wants a woman to visit the moon. It is not yet known who it will be.

NASA’s space launch director, Charlie Blackwell-Thompson, has confirmed that nine men and nine women will be members of the Artemis program. According to her, the return to the study of the Earth’s satellite will provide new valuable knowledge and make many scientific discoveries.

I would say that the Moon is a testing ground, a starting point for us to learn how to live in deep space when we are only a few days from home, and not in months or years, as is the case with Mars and other planets.

So far, the implementation of the Artemis program has been delayed due to cost overruns.
