The Goiás State Fire Department is searching for a 30-year-old American tourist who has been missing since Saturday (28) in Chapada dos Veadeiros, Alto Paraíso region, São Jorge District.
The man was accompanied by a group of four other people. The five were bathing in the Raizama waterfall in the afternoon, when they were taken aback by the sudden increase in water volume.
Three tourists managed to take shelter in a safe place; another was stranded and was only rescued by the corporation around 11 pm due to difficult access.
The fifth of the group is still missing and is still being sought by the Fire Department in the region.
According to reports heard by the military of the 9th Independent Company Firefighter Military Planaltina, who were called on Saturday at around 5:20 pm, the tourist who has not yet been located would have entered the water to get the backpack.
The Secretary of Public Security of Goiás was questioned about the case by the report, but had not returned until the publication of this article.
