US: Unit Labor Costs rise 2.4% in Q3 vs. 3.2% expected

  • US Unit Labor Costs rose less than expected in the third quarter.
  • The Dollar Index remains in negative territory near 105.00.

Unit Labor Costs in the non-agricultural business sector they increased 2.4% in the third quarter of 2022, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Wednesday. This reading came in below market expectations for a 3.2% rise.

Other details in the publication revealed that non-farm productivity increased by 0.8% in the same period, against the market expectation of 0.5%.

Market Reaction

These figures do not seem to have a significant impact on the evolution of the dollar against its main rivals. At the time of writing these lines, the dollar index lost 0.4% and stands at 105.15.
