A vote on an interim federal government bailout is expected to take place in the Senate on Thursday, Chuck Sumer, the leader of the Democratic majority in the legislature, said yesterday.
The bill provides for the continuation of funding for the federal government until March 11, avoiding the possibility of a partial shutdown of its services.
The House of Representatives has already passed the same bill to avoid a possible shutdown of government services, as their current funding is expected to expire at midnight on Friday.
It has not been clarified whether the final vote on the bill will also take place today.
