The US weekly jobless claims fell by 5,000 in the week of April 19, falling to 207,000 compared to the previous 212,000, as reported by the Department of Labor. The figure improves market expectations, which predicted a rise to 214,000, placing it as the lowest level of requests in two months.
The indicator's four-week average has fallen to 213,250 from 214,500, its lowest level since the week of March 22.
The Continued jobless claims also fell in the week of April 12, falling to 1,781,000 from 1,796,000, improving the estimated figure of 1,810,000.

The Dollar Index (DXY) has risen after the publication of the petition data and, above all, the US GDP, which has been lower than expected. The DXY has shot up from 105.55 points to 105.94, its new daily high.
