Stock prices turned lower after the United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin mention that the stimulus talks are still far apart. Speaking at the Milken Institute Global Conference, Mnuchin said that getting something done before the election is difficult. “We continue to make progress on certain issues.”
The major Wall Street indices fell. The Dow Jones lost more than a hundred points in a few minutes and lost 0.65% and the Nasdaq more than 1%. The US dollar rose modestly on the back of risk aversion cutting daily losses.
