USA: Abortion clinics in Alabama are evicting women seeking help

The impact of the overthrow of the Roe v Wade case which established the right to abortion at USA has begun to become visible in states that rushed to ban women’s constitutional right to abortion, following a ruling by the country’s Supreme Court.

THE Alabama is one of these states and already the clinics abortionists try to manage the decision and determine their future as companies, while they have no choice but to expel the women who turn to them for help.

“Because of the reversal of the Roe v Wade case, we recommend that you see other states,” most women clinics recommend. An 18-year-old who asked for help claimed: “It’s just that what is happening is not fair”. Meanwhile, a doctor at such a clinic, Dr. Jasica Robinson, told CNN that she did not know what to say to her patients.

The highly conservative US Supreme Court on Friday overturned the iconic ruling in the 1973 Roe v Wade case, which guaranteed for almost 50 years the right of women to voluntarily terminate their pregnancies, returning to each state the possibility to allow or not abortions.

Several states immediately rushed to outlaw abortions in their territory, relying mainly on laws that have remained dormant to this day. Others intend to reduce the length of time that abortion is allowed after conception.

The counterattack, however, was not long in coming, with appeals to state courts rather than federal courts.

President Joe Biden described the court’s verdict “Tragic mistake” while demonstrations take place and are organized in many American cities.
