The president of United States, Joe Biden has postponed the final decision to withdraw any Trump-era tariffs on imports from Chinaas reported by Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter.
An administration official said that “the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced a review of the tariffs last Friday that will allow businesses the opportunity to seek relief by weighing whether they believe any particular tariff is costing America’s jobs or competitiveness.”
For her part, the president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-Wen, during her visit to US legislators, stated that “Taiwan will collaborate with the US to strengthen economic and trade ties“.
In response to the Taiwanese president, US Representative Stephanie Murphy noted that “One of the most essential things Congress can do is improve economic relations with Taiwan, including through a high-quality US-Taiwan free trade agreement.“.
