Federal Court of Appeal allowed Tuesday to stay in force of the most extensive duties imposed by US President Donald Trump, as he re -examining a lower court ruling that had blocked them on the grounds that he was overcoming his power. The Federal Court of Appeal’s decision in Washington means that the so -called “duties of the day of liberalization” on imports from most US trade partners, as well as separate duties in Canada, China and Mexico, can remain in place, at least temporarily. The Court of Appeal has not yet ruled on whether the duties are legal under the International Emergency Economic Power Act (IEEPA), cited by Trump.
