USA: Federal Judge Blocks Usaid dismantling by Musk and Doge

A US federal judge has indefinitely blocked the US agency’s dismantling for international development (USAID) and prevented Elon Musk’s department of government efficiency department from sharing sensitive personal data maintained by the agency, in a large victory for groups that widely challenged the role of musk in the federal government.

“The court concludes that the defendants’ unilateral actions to close USAID probably raped the United States Constitution,” said Judge Theodore D. Chuang of the US District Court in Maryland.

The decision was taken in response to a lawsuit filed by current and old employees, one of several currently pending due to the rapid dismantling of the foreign aid agency.
