George Tanios, one of two defendants accused of attacking police officers – including the late Brian Siknik – during the storming of the Capitol by protesters (Jan. 6, 2021), will plead guilty, Reuters reports citing court documents.
Tanios and his co-defendant Julian Cater face serious charges, including the chemical attack on at least three Capitol Police officers that day.
Siknik died of a stroke a day after supporters of then-US President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol, trying to block congressional ratification of Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential victory.
The court session is scheduled to begin later this evening.
