Iran today accused the United States of “contradictory behavior and provocative statements” following Washington’s warning to Tehran for consequences for providing support to Yemen’s Houthi and because it has imposed new oil penalties in the midst of its nuclear talks. Washington and Tehran have been in talks in the last month with the aim of reaching an agreement to limit Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for lifting financial sanctions. A fourth round of talks, which was to take place in Rome on Saturday, will be transferred to a new date, as Oman said today, for practical reasons.
