In a letter to Ivanka Trump, lawmakers said they were seeking her voluntary co-operation as part of their ongoing investigation and that their questions would be limited to issues related only to the events of that day, such as her role in the White House. at that time and the activities that led or influenced the invasion of the Capitol.
This is the first time a member of the Trump family has been invited to speak about the events of January 6th. MP Benny Thompson, the head of the committee, suggested that Ivanka come to testify on February 3 or 4.
The committee notes that Ivanka Trump was present at the Oval Office during important discussions before that day and attended a discussion between her father and Vice President Mike Pence on January 6.
Donald Trump has repeatedly tried to prevent other White House aides from handing over documents and speaking to the commission, which he accuses of being partisan.
Ivanka Trump’s representatives were not immediately available to comment on the commission’s request.
